Brooklyn Public Library App

mock redesign | researcher & designer

As a frequent Brooklyn Public Library user, I was frustrated with the current app experience. Information took too long to find and I constantly found myself going back and forth from the poor navigation. I decided to mock up a potential version of the app to improve the experience while maintaining their current branding. The Brooklyn Public Library was not involved in this project.

To better understand the problem and identify a solution, I made storyboards, user stories, a competitive analysis, and feature prioritization. I then conducted timed tasks and an open card sort on participants in the target audience.

Using the information gathered from my research, I made a prototype that successfully reduced the number of interactions users had to make to complete tasks.
